Turned from a single piece of English walnut, with a carved notch at the narrow end so you can lift it off the table one-handed. Finished in a food-safe hardwax oil, not lacquer, so it can be re-oiled rather than replaced.

Wipe with a damp cloth and dry standing up. Re-oil when the surface starts looking dry, roughly twice a year with normal use.

Grain and sapwood vary board to board.
